Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hulio Pidaraskez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hector Rosario! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice sprawl there from Pidaraskez as Rosario shoots in. Rosario has his takedown stuffed and Pidaraskez counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Pidaraskez is trying to control the action in half guard but Rosario is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Pidaraskez looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Rosario actively working from the bottom here. Pidaraskez is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rosario defends it well. Rosario is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pidaraskez is trying to work for a kimura but Rosario is defending well.
Pidaraskez tries to pass the half guard into mount. Rosario knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rosario looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Rosario is not content to let Pidaraskez control the position. Pidaraskez is looking for a kimura but Rosario is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Pidaraskez to get the leverage. Rosario looking for submissions off his back. Pidaraskez looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Rosario actively working from the bottom here. Pidaraskez has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Rosario defend it? Pidaraskez steps over the head and cranks it - Rosario is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Pidaraskez!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Hulio Pidaraskez! Hulio Pidaraskez got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
