Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lex Vanhorn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Stark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vanhorn kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Cult of Personality. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vanhorn misses with a takedown attempt
and Stark counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Vanhorn fails with a takedown attempt.
Vanhorn doesn't manage to clinch there - Stark circles away.
Stark fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Stark gets a double leg takedown into Vanhorn's guard.
Stark in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Stark distracts Vanhorn with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Stark has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Stark feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Vanhorns jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Vanhorn sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Stark is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
We're going to have a standup here because Lex Vanhorn wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Vanhorn jumps guard and drags Stark to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Stark is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stark accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Vanhorn is on top in guard.

Vanhorn escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Stark gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lex Vanhorn.
