The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kosarev misses with a body kick.
Kosarev throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Karelin.
Kosarev with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Karelin avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kosarev takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Kosarev pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Karelin digs a good hook to Kosarev's body.
Kosarev is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Karelin has cracked Kosarev with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Karelin lands another huge swinging hook and Kosarev tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Kosarev, before Karelin can land any more shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Aleksanteri Karelin!
After winning the bout, Aleksanteri Karelin thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
