Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Clay Gouda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maximus Battery (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maximus Battery is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gouda keeps the fight on the outside.
Battery fails in his attempt to clinch.
Some wild striking there from Gouda.

Battery pushes Gouda up against the cage in a clinch.
Battery throws a knee to the head but misses.

Gouda has clasped his hands together around Battery's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Battery manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Battery wants to improve his position but Gouda is controlling well.
Gouda is keen to just control but Battery is a slippery customer.
The fighters are battling for position here. Battery manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Gouda is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Battery is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Battery has escaped and now he's on top!
Battery forces his way into half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Battery connects with a nice short shot to Gouda's temple.

Battery is looking for a kimura here.

Gouda is trying to get back to full guard.

Battery is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gouda defends it well.

Battery is working for a submission of some sort.

Gouda is defending against the submission attempts here by Battery.
Gouda tries to roll over but Battery keeps him under control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Battery is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gouda doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Battery.
Gouda is looking to escape.
Gouda is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Gouda is trying to stand.

Battery is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gouda defends it well.
Battery tries to pass the half guard into mount. Gouda knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Gouda changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Battery tries to avoid it but Gouda manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Battery to the ground. Battery escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Gouda feints and as Battery raises his hands in defense, Gouda changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Battery working for a triangle but Gouda defends it easily.

Battery has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gouda can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Battery looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gouda is one step ahead there.

Battery looking for a triangle here. Gouda is fighting it but it looks tight! Battery pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Gouda is tapping out - this one is all over!
