Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phil Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Texans Brixius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brixius is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by FACE THE PAIN. Phil Griffin could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Texans Brixius's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Phil Griffin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Texans Brixius! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brixius throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Griffin's waist but Griffin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Brixius off to one side. Griffin lands a nice shot that snaps Brixius's head back.
A punch combination from Griffin misses. Brixius uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Griffin. Texans Brixius seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Brixius fails with the takedown. Brixius with a lazy takedown attempt and Griffin counters with a straight right hand. Phil Griffin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Texans Brixius. Brixius doesn't succeed with the takedown and Griffin counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Brixius shoots in for a takedown but Griffin shows good takedown defense. Griffin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Brixius shoots and misses and Griffin counters with a straight right hand. Griffin scores with a body shot.

Brixius closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Griffin quickly recovers to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Griffin is defending against the submission attempts here by Brixius.

Griffin is controlling Brixius's position as best he can from this difficult position. Brixius is looking for a kimura but Griffin is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Brixius to get the leverage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Griffin is refusing to be controlled, as Brixius sits in half guard. Griffin lands a couple of sideways elbows. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Phil Griffin is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Brixius is trying to control. Griffin wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Brixius is working for a kimura but Griffin is defending it quite comfortably.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Griffin is positioning himself well to prevent Brixius advancing to mount. Brixius wants to control but Griffin is keeping him busy. Griffin controlling the position for now. Brixius trying to mount his opponent but Griffin defends it. Texans Brixius has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Griffin is looking for a sweep. Brixius is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
And that's the end of the fight! Texans Brixius comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Griffin has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
