Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Arkadij Jegorov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ilya Sveshnikov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jegorov's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Roy Jones - Can't be touched. Ilya Sveshnikov is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Arkadij Jegorov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ilya Sveshnikov!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Illya Tyunina and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jegorov darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Jegorov stalling.

Jegorov thows a huge punch but Sveshnikov dodges it nicely.
Jegorov is taking a breather. Sveshnikov says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

We're going to have a standup here because Arkadij Jegorov wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Jegorov wants to free his trapped foot but Sveshnikov is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Jegorov decides to stand and escape the position.
Jegorov throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sveshnikov.

Jegorov bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Jegorov clinches up with Sveshnikov and pushes him back against the cage.

Jegorov has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Sveshnikov is trying to keep an underhook but Jegorov manages to get the takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Jegorov is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Sveshnikov has managed to free his arm - good work.
Well, if Jegorov is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sveshnikov wants to control the action here but instead Jegorov manages to pass to full mount!

Jegorov tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Jegorov really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Sveshnikov is in all sorts of trouble here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sveshnikov wants to hold on but Jegorov pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Sveshnikov throws a chopping leg kick but Jegorov manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Jegorov is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Sveshnikov's half guard.

Jegorov decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Jegorov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sveshnikov with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Jegorov lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Sveshnikov is breathing heavily.

Jegorov seems to be working for a kimura but Sveshnikov defends the submission attempt.
Jegorov is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Jegorov missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Jegorov is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sveshnikov doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jegorov.
Jegorov is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sveshnikov can do to turn this around?

Jegorov passes into side control, despite Sveshnikov's attempt to control the position.
Sveshnikov can't do much from the bottom here.

Jegorov has hold of Sveshnikov's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Sveshnikov seems comfortable defending it but Jegorov has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Sveshnikov is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Sveshnikov is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Jegorov couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Arkadij Jegorov!
A very excited looking Arkadij Jegorov made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
