Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nigel Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lewis Moranis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Nigel Coleman has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Nigel Coleman seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nigel Coleman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lewis Moranis! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Eliza Hachem and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moranis leaves Coleman with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Moranis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Coleman tries to avoid it but Moranis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Coleman to the ground. Coleman escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Coleman could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Coleman drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Moranis parries the strikes from Coleman easily there. Coleman is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Moranis to escape.
You can see the frustration on Moranis's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. An elbow from Coleman crashes against the mat.
Moranis is looking for a sweep. Coleman creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Moranis is trying to improve his position. Moranis regains half guard, as Coleman was trying to land strikes. Coleman thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Moranis's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are battling for position here. Moranis manages to regain full guard. Nice work. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Moranis is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Moranis wants to pass the guard but Coleman is keeping the position. Moranis has gone for a leg lock! Coleman slips out almost immediately though and dives into Moranis's guard. Moranis has momentary wrist control but Coleman slips an elbow through the middle. Coleman throwing strikes but missing. That's two minutes gone in the round. Moranis looking to hit a scissor sweep but Coleman is one step ahead there. Coleman scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Coleman throwing strikes from guard but Moranis blocks nicely. Moranis utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Moranis preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Coleman trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Coleman with a flurry of punches that miss. Coleman throws a big elbow that misses. Moranis utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Moranis pulls Coleman in close to his closed guard and prevents Coleman from doing any damage or advancing position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Coleman postures up in Moranis's guard and throws a big left but Moranis blocks it. Coleman postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Coleman postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Moranis postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Coleman is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Moranis, into his guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nigel Coleman dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Coleman manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Moranis on his heels. He'll look to pass Moranis's guard now, I'm sure. Coleman throwing strikes but missing. Coleman postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Moranis wants to stand but Coleman is controlling the position. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Coleman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Moranis wants to stand and escape but Coleman is having none of it. Coleman throws an elbow that misses. Moranis uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Coleman's guard. Nice move by Moranis! Moranis drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Coleman manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Moranis has Coleman in his guard. Moranis is breathing heavily.

Coleman won't allow Moranis to get back to his feet. Coleman pushes down on Moranis's leg and manages to get into half guard. Coleman not landing any meaningful shots this time. Coleman thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Moranis's head.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Coleman missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Moranis stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Moranis wants it to stay on the feet. Moranis shoots in for a takedown but Coleman shows good takedown defense. Coleman shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Moranis but Moranis pushes him off and we're back to square one. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Excellent takedown into side control there by Moranis. Moranis goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Coleman has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Moranis but great work by Coleman. Coleman in side control lands a decent elbow. Coleman connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Moranis some visible discomfort.

Nigel Coleman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A big shot lands for Coleman! That's hurt Moranis! Will he recover? Coleman fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
