Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Gurgel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vasara Hai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gurgel kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Eminem - Lose Yourself. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jorge Gurgel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Vasara Hai!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Roosa Järviläinen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gurgel slips under a jab.
Hai ducks under a wild hook from Gurgel.
Gurgel ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Jorge Gurgel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gurgel takes a swing at Hai's ribcage but misses.
Gurgel staying out of range there.
A big right from Gurgel misses.
Gurgel pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Hai throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gurgel lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hai circles away quickly and effectively.

Hai darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Gurgel preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

Hai blocking the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gurgel with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Gurgel swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Hai is now in Gurgel's guard. A big mistake from Gurgel there, giving up the dominant position!
Hai postures up in Gurgel's guard and throws a big left but Gurgel blocks it.

Hai got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gurgel has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hai has managed to get both his arms back between Gurgel's legs - danger averted.

Gurgel has hold of Hai's hands but Hai slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Hai seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Gurgel is trying to stand up here but Hai is controlling him well.
Hai seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Hai lands a decent elbow from side control.
Hai cracks Gurgel with a big elbow.
Hai works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Gurgel can't do much from the bottom here.

Hai is trying to get an arm triangle but Gurgel is defending well.
Hai wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gurgel keeps working.

Gurgel manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gurgel is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hai is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hai has escaped and now he's on top!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Gurgel is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vasara Hai dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Gurgel shoots in but Hai avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Hai loads up on a big right hand but Gurgel slips the punch.
Gurgel waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Hai.
Hai looks to land a right hand but Gurgel moved out of range.
Gurgel misses with a looping left.
Hai throws a jab when Gurgel was well out of range.
Gurgel throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Hai is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Gurgel's half guard.
Hai looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gurgel with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Gurgel escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hai gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Gurgel has his foot on Hai's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hai works his way back into a safe position though.

Gurgel is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Hai lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Hai seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Hai must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Vasara Hai showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Hai feints and as Gurgel raises his hands in defense, Hai changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Gurgel looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Hai has picked Gurgel up and slammed him! Gurgel can't keep hold of the triangle and Hai manages to pass to side control!

Gurgel tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hai wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Gurgel might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Hai takes a little break here. Gurgel wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Hai lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Hai landing strikes from the mount and Gurgel is in trouble!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gurgel is trying desperately to improve position.

Hai looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Hai content just to control the position here.
Gurgel is wriggling around trying to escape.
Hai punishing his opponent with strikes.
Gurgel is squirming around, avoiding Hai's attempts to control the action.
Vasara Hai is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The referee warns Gurgel that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hai postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Gurgel badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Hai around the waist but Hai pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Hai is the winner by TKO! Hai jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vasara Hai!
After the fight, Vasara Hai was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
