Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
22 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Viktor Herzog!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
11 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Matt Trampling!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Roger Salmon and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Herzog changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Trampling tries to avoid it but Herzog manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Trampling to the ground. Trampling escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Trampling throws a right hand that Herzog ducks under and follows up with a left that Herzog also avoids with ease.
Herzog misses with a double jab.
Trampling getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Herzog shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Trampling scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Trampling turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Herzog throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Trampling tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Herzog is in Trampling's guard.
Trampling working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Herzog doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Herzog manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Herzog connects with a couple of short punches.
This has been an exciting period of action!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Trampling is on top in guard.
Herzog had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Trampling defends it easily.
Trampling stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Herzog swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Trampling trying to control the position from guard on top but Herzog is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Herzog is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Herzog pushes a forearm under Trampling's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Trampling is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Viktor Herzog spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
