Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Conner Steven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Muhammad Fachry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Conner Steven! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Muhammad Fachry! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Winston Howard and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice jab there from Fachry. Fachry throws a low kick but it's checked well by Steven. Fachry with a poor takedown and Steven counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Steven. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Steven controlling from the top position. Steven trying to control but Fachry is working from the bottom. Fachry wants to sweep but no luck. Fachry looking to control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Conner Steven. Fachry changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Steven tries to avoid it but Fachry manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Steven to the ground. Steven escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Steven has Fachry up against the cage in a clinch.
Steven is trying to pull guard but Fachry turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steven jumps guard and drags Fachry to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Steven is on top in guard.
Steven trying to control the position from guard on top but Fachry is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Fachry really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Steven. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Fachry is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Steven controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Steven works over Fachry with some ground and pound from guard. Steven slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Conner Steven just wasn't active enough. Fachry moves in looking to clinch but Steven pushes him off. Steven shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Steven showed some decent athleticism there. Fachry is doing well to control the position and prevent Steven from advancing to side control. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Steven performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Steven working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steven decides to stand and escape the position. Fachry tries to close the distance and clinch up but Steven swats him away and circles back towards the center. Steven slaps away a takedown attempt from Fachry, before circling back to the center of the mat. Conner Steven has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Muhammad Fachry. Fachry shoots in but no luck this time. Fachry looks winded! Steven rushes Fachry and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Steven has hold of one of Fachry's legs. Fachry is fighting the takedown attempt but Steven gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Steven seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Steven's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fachry preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
We're going to have a standup here because Conner Steven wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Steven misses with a hook. Fachry ducked under it nicely. Steven shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Fachry napping and manages to drive through into side control! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Steven lands a few punches from side control. Steven lands a decent elbow from side control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Fachry tries to buck Steven off but Steven is having none of it. Steven decides to take the fight back to the feet. Steven closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Fachry to the mat! Fachry manages to get full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Conner Steven dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Steven shoots in and gets a takedown into Fachry's guard. Conner Steven overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Steven content to stall in guard here. Fachry looking to control.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Steven decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Steven perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Steven has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steven is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Steven lands with a punch from half guard. Steven slips a nice elbow through Fachry's hands, connecting with Fachry's forehead. Ground and pound from Steven. Steven is looking to take a break and control but Fachry is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Steven lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Steven controlling the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steven lands with a punch from half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Fachry trying to get back to full guard but Steven takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Fachry is breathing heavily. BOOM! Steven connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The referee warns Fachry that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Steven sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Steven has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steven seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Fachry for as long as he can get away with. Steven landing strikes from the mount. Steven with shots to the head and body - Fachry looks very uncomfortable down there. BOOM! Steven connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Fachry is rocked! Steven connects with a bit shot that sees Fachry covering up! More strikes from Steven and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Steven is our winner by TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Conner Steven! A relieved looking Conner Steven thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
