Miles's entrance music is Young Blood by Audio Machine. A fine choice. Desmond Miles has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Desmond Miles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Cournoyer!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cournoyer throws a head kick that misses.
Miles lands a nice hook to Cournoyer's body. Cournoyer takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Miles connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Miles's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Miles duly obliges.

It looks like Ryan Cournoyer has been cut.
Cournoyer misses with a double jab.
Miles connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Cournoyer keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Some wild striking there from Miles.
Ryan Cournoyer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Miles feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Cournoyers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Miles lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Cournoyer has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Cournoyer and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Miles takes a head kick and keeps coming.

and Cournoyer makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Miles really felt that one!
Miles tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cournoyer was well out of range. Poor timing from Miles.

A punch lands to the side of Cournoyer 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Miles uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Cournoyer slips a straight right by Miles.
Miles connects with a nice looking jab.
Miles misses with a wild body shot.
Cournoyer closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Miles throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Cournoyer throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Cournoyer fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Miles to the ground. Cournoyer is now in Miles's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Miles is trying to keep Cournoyer in close.

Miles avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Miles might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Cournoyer stands and throws Miles's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Cournoyer has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Cournoyer thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Cournoyer is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Miles is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Cournoyer is nestled in close to Miles, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Cournoyer connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Cournoyer takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The referee warns Miles that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Jeez, Desmond Miles's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

Miles displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cournoyer throws out the jab.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cournoyer feints a jab promting Miles to slip. Cournoyer then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Miles slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Desmond Miles's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
