Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Renzo DeSilka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lyoto Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). DeSilka comes to the cage accompanied by International Love by Pitbull. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Renzo DeSilka!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lyoto Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Chris Saunders and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from DeSilka is defended easily by Jackson.
DeSilka throws a half hearted mid kick.
Lyoto Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jackson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Good work by DeSilka as he checks the leg kick.

DeSilka drives through with a takedown into Jackson's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
DeSilka wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.

DeSilka drops back looking for a leg! Jackson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jackson manages to kick DeSilka off! DeSilka jumps back into Jackson's guard.
DeSilka throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jackson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Jackson pulls DeSilka in to control the position.
Jackson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

DeSilka thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
DeSilka passes into half guard.
Jackson is looking to improve his position.

DeSilka wants to pass the guard but Jackson is defending well.

Jackson is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but DeSilka is staying active.

DeSilka throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Jackson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with DeSilka. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
DeSilka is trying to control. Jackson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
DeSilka wants to free his trapped foot but Jackson is holding on for dear life with his legs.

DeSilka is working for a submission of some sort.
DeSilka looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

DeSilka stands up from half guard.

DeSilka tries to keep at a distance but Jackson has taken the fight into the clinch.

DeSilka is looking to take this one to the mat.

Jackson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jackson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from DeSilka.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Renzo DeSilka. That's going to take a lot out of him.
DeSilka shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jackson as he avoids it easily.
Jackson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A combination from Jackson does no damage.
DeSilka tries for a takedown but Jackson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

DeSilka gets tackled into the cage by Jackson. Jackson maintains the clinch.

Still in the clinch, Jackson scores with a nice short uppercut.
DeSilka tries to pull guard but Jackson forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
A head punch blocked on the inside by DeSilka.
Jackson lands an uppercut.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Jackson creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Jackson lands a body punch.
A right hand to the body from Jackson.
Jackson misses with a hook to the ribs.

Jackson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
DeSilka takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
DeSilka misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Nice defenses there by DeSilka.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Renzo DeSilka will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Sloppy strikes from Jackson. Those never looked like landing.
Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch but DeSilka swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
DeSilka shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jackson pinned against the cage. Jackson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jackson wants to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jackson throws a head kick but DeSilka moves out of range.

Jackson fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but DeSilka is out of range.

and DeSilka counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by DeSilka.
DeSilka trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Jackson looking to hit a scissor sweep but DeSilka is one step ahead there.
DeSilka has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
DeSilka in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
DeSilka works a leg free and moves into half guard.

DeSilka is looking for a kimura here.

DeSilka is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jackson is just riding it out for now. DeSilka eventually gives up the hold.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jackson wants to improve his position but DeSilka is controlling well.

DeSilka is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jackson is just riding it out for now. DeSilka eventually gives up the hold.

DeSilka is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

DeSilka in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Jackson tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from DeSilka!

In his post fight interview, Renzo DeSilka started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
