Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Derick Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lennox Rhodes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith comes to the cage accompanied by I am The Law. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Derick Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lennox Rhodes!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Chris Saunders and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rhodes just misses with a punch to the body.
Smith takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Good work by Smith as he checks the leg kick.
Smith circles away from the clinch attempt.
Smith avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Smith looks to throw the jab but Rhodes is out of range.

Smith cracks Rhodes with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

and Smith counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Rhodes makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Rhodes dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Smith. That did some damage!

Rhodes tries to clinch up but Smith circles away and keeps his distance.
Rhodes fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Smith looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

and Smith counters with a lovely straight right hand!

It looks like Derick Smith has been cut.
Smith moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
It looks like Lennox Rhodes has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rhodes tries to close the distance and clinch up but Smith swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Rhodes forces Smith back against the cage and clinches.

Smith jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rhodes walks away with a smile on his face. Smith gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Smith moves out of range of the body kick from Rhodes.
Smith scores with a one two! Rhodes had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Rhodes connects with a leg kick. Smith looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Rhodes lands with a kick to the temple. Smith shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Smith throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Rhodes lands with a shot to the body.
Rhodes throws a leg kick
and Smith counters with a left to the body.
Smith misses with an uppercut. Rhodes saw that one coming.
Rhodes lands a leg kick that knocks Smith off balance momentarily.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rhodes avoids the head kick by Smith.
Smith lands with an overhand left.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Rhodes. Smith shrugs it off though.
Smith is breathing heavily.
Smith on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Rhodes. Rhodes obviously looking to wear him down.
Rhodes tries a head kick but it misses.

Rhodes lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rhodes pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Nice defenses there by Smith.
Rhodes lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Smith showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Rhodes.
Rhodes throws a nice outside leg kick.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Rhodes uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Smith.
Rhodes connects with a body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lennox Rhodes dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
A telegraphed right hand from Rhodes misses the target.
Rhodes uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Smith has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Smith works Rhodes's body with a nice hook.
Lennox Rhodes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rhodes fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Rhodes connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Smith momentarily.
Rhodes forces Smith back against the cage and clinches.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A short body shot lands from Rhodes as the two fighters clinch.
Rhodes misses with a hook to the ribs.
Smith is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Smith is trying to pull guard but Rhodes has him pressed against the cage.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Rhodes.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Still in the clinch, Rhodes scores with a nice short uppercut.

Rhodes goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Rhodes creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Smith fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Smith is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Rhodes to keep the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Derick Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rhodes lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Smith backwards.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Rhodes throws a big uppercut that drops Smith! More strikes from Rhodes and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Smith lies dazed against the cage as Rhodes celebrates with his cornermen!
