Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Al Westinghouse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrei Cote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Westinghouse might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Hiroshima. Andrei Cote has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Al Westinghouse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andrei Cote!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cote swats away the attempt to clinch by Westinghouse.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Westinghouse just leaning against Cote, taking a breather.
Westinghouse gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Al Westinghouse.
A looping hook to the body misses from Westinghouse. Cote does a little dance to reset his feet.
Westinghouse looks to land a right hand but Cote moved out of range.

Westinghouse throws a left and a right that both miss
letting Cote counter with a right hand.
Cote keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Westinghouse waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Cote.
Westinghouse doesn't manage to clinch there - Cote circles away.

Westinghouse has taken the fight to the clinch.
Cote wants to break free but Westinghouse has control.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Westinghouse.


It looks like Andrei Cote has been cut.
Westinghouse using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Cote has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Westinghouse trying to control the position but instead, Cote has worked for underhooks and has pushed Westinghouse into the cage.
Westinghouse scores with a knee to the head.
Cote is trying to break free.
Cote wants to break the clinch but can't.
Westinghouse has Cote pushed against the cage.
Westinghouse tries a body shot but Cote blocks it.
Cote prevents the takedown attempt.
Westinghouse prevents Cote from breaking the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cote is trying to push Westinghouse away but Westinghouse has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Westinghouse content to slow the pace in the clinch.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Westinghouse for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
Westinghouse lands with a left to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cote tries to break free but Westinghouse pushes him back against the cage.

Westinghouse works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Westinghouse is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Westinghouse tries to free his leg and advance position but Cote is retaining full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Westinghouse wants to stand but Cote has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Westinghouse sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Al Westinghouse has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Cote keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Westinghouse throws a lazy right hand but Cote sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Westinghouse fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cote avoids it really well and circles away.
Andrei Cote is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Westinghouse throws a combination that misses
and Cote connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cote showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Westinghouse.
Westinghouse swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A punch combination from Westinghouse misses.
Westinghouse misses with a hook. Cote ducked under it nicely.
Al Westinghouse seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cote scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Westinghouse cracks Cote with a good jab.


That has opened up Andrei Cote's cut even more.
Cote throws a right and a left that both miss.
Cote looks to land a combination but Westinghouse avoids it well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Westinghouse lands with a right hand.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cote throws a series of punches but Westinghouse moves out of range.
The fighters circling - Westinghouse throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Al Westinghouse dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Andrei Cote's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Westinghouse has a takedown stuffed.
Westinghouse tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cote swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Cote throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Cote on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Westinghouse fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Cote to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Cote looks to clinch but Westinghouse throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Cote taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Al Westinghouse!
