Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tim Ernst (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Troy Slamen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Tim Ernst has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tim Ernst!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Troy Slamen!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Joseph Jones and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slamen shoots for a double leg takedown but Ernst sprawls well. He's pushed Slamen's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ernst scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Slamen doesn't seem bothered though.

Ernst closes the distance and pushes Slamen back into the cage.
A knee to the head by Ernst.
A right handed body shot lands from Ernst.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Ernst takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Slamen tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Ernst is pressed up against the cage. Slamen has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ernst down to the mat. Ernst avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Slamen takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Ernst is trying to maintain a safe position but Slamen gets an underhook and turns Ernst into the cage.

Ernst breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Nice sprawl there from Ernst as Slamen shoots in.
Ernst swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Slamen throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ernst was covering up waiting for the punch and Slamen finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Ernst manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Slamen manages to get himself to full guard.
Ernst has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Slamen is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Ernst would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Horrible takedown by Slamen or perhaps it was just good defense by Ernst which made him look bad.
Slamen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ernst is fending him off so far but Slamen persists. Nope, Ernst circles away and we're back to standing.

Slamen's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Ernst connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Slamen scrambles back to his feet.

Ernst lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Ernst connects with a nasty looking knee right to Slamen's face.
Slamen has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Ernst is stalling here.
Ernst jerks Slamen's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Slamen drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Ernst goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Ernst because Slamen was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
