Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Erick Noble! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mad Dog! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yuuki Gou and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Noble blocks the body kick.
Dog ducks under a wild hook from Noble. Dog ducks under a wild hook from Noble. Nice defenses there by Dog. Dog swats away the attempt to clinch by Noble. Dog just misses with a punch to the body.
Noble tries a low kick but Dog avoids it. Noble fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Dog checks it well. Noble fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Noble walks forward, straight into a front kick from Dog. Dog keeps Noble at a distance using the push kick. Noble takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

The fight stays on the outside here - Noble looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Noble closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The ground and pound from Noble seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Noble trying to control the position but Dog is working away. Dog defending against the ground and pound. Noble working the ground and pound but Dog is defending the strikes. Noble lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Noble misses with an attempted head punch from side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Noble looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Dog is looking to reverse the position. Noble lands a few punches from side control. Noble wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dog keeps working. Dog manages to work his way to half guard, despite Noble's best efforts. Noble sitting and controlling from the half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Dog wants to improve his position but Noble is controlling well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dog keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Noble is figuring out what he wants to do next. Dog is looking to control Noble's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dog avoid being mounted? Dog might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Noble kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Dog desperately trying to maintain half guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Mad Dog was stalling too much, according to the referee. Dog misses with a few strikes there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dog throws a head kick that misses. Noble misses with an uppercut. Dog tries to bum rush Noble with a series of wild strikes but Noble uses good footwork to avoid the assault. A combination from Noble does no damage. Noble throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Noble throws a right hand that Dog ducks under and follows up with a left that Dog also avoids with ease. Dog throws a head kick that misses. Dog misses with a body shot.
Noble scores with a takedown into Dog's guard. Noble trying to control the position from guard on top but Dog is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Noble tries to free his leg and advance position but Dog is retaining full guard. Noble dips to his left and cracks Dog with an uppercut! Dog connects with a leg kick. Noble looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Dog avoids the body shot from Noble.
Dog looks to score with a jab to the body but Noble is just out of range. A head kick misses from Dog. Noble has closed the distance and engaged Dog in a clinch.

Noble is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Dog can't fight it off and eventually Noble manages to take the fight to the floor. Dog looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Dog keeping moving, preventing Noble from controlling successfully. Dog wants to stand but Noble is controlling the position. Noble throws a big elbow that misses. Noble trying to control but Dog is working from the bottom. Dog keeping full guard, as Noble tries to pass. Noble has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Noble postures up in Dog's guard and throws a big left but Dog blocks it. Noble trying to control but Dog is working from the bottom. Noble stays in close to Dog's body and controls the position. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Erick Noble. Donk. Dog catches Noble right on the button with a cross. Noble misses with a looping right. Dog scores with a nice body kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Noble takes a shot to the body in his stride.

and Dog counters with a head kick. That will keep Noble thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Dog throws the kick towards the body but Noble avoids it. Noble does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Dog is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Noble rather than just go for the knockout. Noble doesn't manage to clinch there - Dog circles away.
Noble scores with a hook to the body. Dog takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Dog thows a body kick. Noble tries to catch it but that hurt him. Noble rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dog moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Dog stalks Noble and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Noble's face. Noble staggers backwards, shaken. Noble on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Dog throws a right and a left that both miss. Mad Dog is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Dog slips a jab and a cross from Noble.
Noble misses with an uppercut. Dog scores with a nice strike. Dog scores with the left hand. Noble knows he should have avoided that one. Erick Noble seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Noble on the wrong end of a nice hook.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Noble looks to land a right hand but Dog moved out of range. Noble rushes Dog and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Dog lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Noble can't get the takedown.
Noble throws a head punch that misses. Dog jumps guard and drags Noble to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Noble lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Dog utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Erick Noble overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Noble wants to control from the top but Dog keeps moving. Noble content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Noble passes Dog's left leg - he's now in half guard. Noble looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Erick Noble will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Dog scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Noble connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Noble. Dog gets caught napping as Noble dives in and scores a takedown. Dog manages to retain guard. Noble throws a big right hand that misses. Dog lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Noble! Noble is looking to improve his position but Dog isn't that keen on the idea. Dog tries to control but Noble wriggling away.

Noble closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Dog's guard. Noble looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Noble wants to control from the top but Dog keeps moving. Noble missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Noble loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Dog working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Noble. Dog is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Noble is controlling him. Dog is trying to control the position from the bottom.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Noble accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Dog avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. A decent looking cross lands there for Noble. Noble throws a lazy uppercut
and Dog counters with a low kick, right behind Noble 's knee. Noble tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dog swats him away and circles back towards the center. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Noble tests Dog's chin there with a solid looking shot. Dog showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Noble.

Noble postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Noble sitting in guard here, content to control. Dog preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Noble trying to control the action but Dog is working from the bottom. Noble throwing shots but missing, from side control. Noble connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Dog some visible discomfort.

Noble is pushing down on Dog's leg trying to pass to half guard. Dog is fighting to maintain full guard but Noble has managed to sneak the leg through. Dog is wobbling all over the place through exhaustion. Will he make it to the final bell?

Dog is trying to maintain the position but Noble is very close to passing his half guard. Noble sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Dog defending well though. Noble with the ground and pound but Dog uses the opportunity to regain guard. Noble is in close to Dog's body, working some short punches and elbows. Noble looking to sit in guard and control but Dog gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

And that's the end of the fight! Erick Noble showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Noble, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
