Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eric Dudley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Turtle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eric Dudley has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Eric Dudley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tom Turtle!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Micheangelo Fripello and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Turtle gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Dudley won't allow Turtle to sweep him here.
Dudley wants to pass the guard but Turtle is keeping the position.
Dudley will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Turtle really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dudley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Turtle can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eric Dudley. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dudley is breathing heavily.
Dudley tries to kick Turtle off but Turtle keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Turtle working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Turtle with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Turtle not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Dudley is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Turtle stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dudley swivels though and keeps the full guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Tom Turtle hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Dudley avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Eric Dudley will probably get the nod.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Dudley has one foot on Turtle's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Dudley changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Dudley shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Turtle sprawls well. Turtle wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dudley gets slowly back to his feet.

Tom Turtle showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Dudley has hold of Turtle's hands but Turtle slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Turtle is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Dudley is squirming around, avoiding Turtle's attempts to control the action.
Dudley is looking to get to half guard.
Dudley's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Turtle takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

and Turtle counters with a nice double leg into side control. Dudley won't be happy with that.
Turtle is looking to take a break and control but Dudley is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

A relieved looking Eric Dudley thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
