Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Verdmont Bronson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Pinto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Bronson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to So long and thanks for all the fish. Verdmont Bronson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Verdmont Bronson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jose Pinto! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Emerson Jorge and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pinto keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Pinto shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bronson as he jumps to the side. A left lands for Bronson. Pinto keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Bronson. Bronson misses with a wild body shot. Pinto drives through with a takedown into Bronson's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Bronson is looking to stand up but Pinto isn't so interested in that idea. Bronson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Pinto wants to pass the guard but Bronson is keeping the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pinto throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pinto trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Bronson keeping moving, preventing Pinto from controlling successfully. Pinto passes into half guard. Pinto stops Bronson from getting back to his feet.
Pinto is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Bronson has managed to free his arm - good work. Pinto thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Pinto is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Bronson looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pinto lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Pinto throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Pinto trying to control from half guard but Bronson is working away. Bronson pushes Pinto off looking to stand but Pinto dives back in and keeps control.
Pinto is looking for a kimura but Bronson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Pinto to get the leverage. Pinto is working for a kimura but Bronson is defending it quite comfortably.
Bronson wants to get back to his feet.
Pinto has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pinto looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Pinto wants to control but Bronson is keeping him busy. Bronson blocking the ground and pound attempt from Pinto. Pinto not doing much here.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jose Pinto has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Bronson lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Bronson throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Pinto counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Pinto swings widly with a right hand
and Bronson counters with a nice body shot. Bronson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pinto moves away. Bronson misses with a wild body shot. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pinto keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Bronson. A jab from Bronson finds it's way through Pinto's defenses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jose Pinto dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Bronson with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Pinto to score with a decent uppercut. Bronson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Pinto shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Pinto shoots in but no luck this time. Bronson really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill... Pinto moves out of range of the strikes. Pinto shoots in looking for a takedown but Bronson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pinto's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Verdmont Bronson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jose Pinto. Bronson scores with a sloppy right hand. Pinto should have avoided that one. A big right from Bronson misses. Pinto on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
That's one minute gone in the round. and Bronson counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Pinto! He's just covering up as Bronson starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:08 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Verdmont Bronson! Verdmont Bronson decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
