Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexandr Kokoev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Zhirkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexandr Kokoev! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Zhirkov! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Fedor Mirinova and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zhirkov moves into range and clinches up with Kokoev. Zhirkov has Kokoev pressed against the cage, preventing Kokoev from circling away and getting back to striking at range. A frustrated look appears on Kokoev's face as he tries to break the clinch. Kokoev jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Zhirkov walks away with a smile on his face. Kokoev gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Zhirkov fails with an attempt to clinch.
Zhirkov clinches up against the cage. Zhirkov pulls guard. Kokoev decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Zhirkov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kokoev tries to avoid it but Zhirkov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kokoev to the ground. Kokoev escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Kokoev lands with a nice combination. Zhirkov backs away looking to recover. Kokoev looks to land a combination. Zhirkov sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Zhirkov looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zhirkov throws a series of punches but Kokoev moves out of range. Kokoev rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Zhirkov moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Nice jab there from Kokoev. Zhirkov tries for a takedown but Kokoev circles away easily and Kokoev connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Alexandr Kokoev has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ivan Zhirkov. Kokoev throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Zhirkov takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Zhirkov with a lazy takedown attempt and Kokoev counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Zhirkov tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kokoev paws at him with a jab and circles away. The fight moves into the clinch position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zhirkov missing with knees to the body.
Zhirkov's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Zhirkov goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kokoev prevents it.
Zhirkov looks winded! Zhirkov is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Zhirkov is looking to take this one to the mat. Zhirkov tries for a takedown. No joy.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Zhirkov gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kokoev.
Kokoev jumps into guard, dragging Zhirkov to the mat.
Kokoev is trying to control the position but Zhirkov postures up. Kokoev striking off his back but it's not causing Zhirkov any problems. Zhirkov tries to free his leg and advance position but Kokoev is retaining full guard. Zhirkov is fighting to break Kokoev's control of his arms but Kokoev is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Kokoev wants to sweep but no luck. Kokoev is working hard here to advance position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kokoev looking for a triangle here. Zhirkov is fighting it but it looks tight! Kokoev pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Zhirkov is tapping out - this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Alexandr Kokoev! During a confident post fight interview, Alexandr Kokoev thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
