The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Sladkov. Those never looked like landing.
A solid leg kick lands there for Speed.
Sladkov throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Sladkov blocks a low kick nicely.
Sladkov takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Sladkov on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Sladkov drops his hands momentarily and Speed takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Speed's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Sladkov connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Speed scrambles back to his feet.

and Speed counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Sladkov is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Speed gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Sladkov chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Speed can pounce on him.

Oleg Sladkov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Speed will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Sladkov takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Sladkov displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Speed throws out the jab.
Cameron Speed seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Speed looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Speed seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Speed seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Sladkov for as long as he can get away with.

We're going to have a standup here because Cameron Speed wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Speed gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Sladkov fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Speed looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Sladkov counters with a nice right hand that sends Speed toppling to the canvas! Speed scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Sladkov finish him?!

Speed is rocked!
Speed pivots, looking for a leg kick but Sladkov is out of range and Speed settles back down.
Oh Speed is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Speed throws a lazy head kick
and Sladkov makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Speed is breathing heavily.

and Sladkov counters with a nice body shot.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sladkov lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Speed head around and knocks him out cold! Sladkov hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.
