PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Boech (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dylan Sexton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boech comes to the cage accompanied by Oh Fortuna. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boech swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Sexton holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Sexton manages to pull guard.
Boech throws a big right hand that misses.
Sexton is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Boech throws an elbow that misses. Sexton uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Boech's guard. Nice move by Sexton!

Sexton drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Boech manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Sexton has Boech in his guard.
Boech with a flurry of punches that miss.
Boech working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Sexton's head.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Boech accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Sexton has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Sexton wants to sweep but no luck.
Boech postures up and lands a big shot to Sexton's brow.
Boech loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Boech lands a couple of elbows.
Sexton should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Boech throws a big right hand that misses.
Boech is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sexton is on top in guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Boech wants to stand but Sexton is controlling the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Dylan Sexton.
Boech throws a right and a left that Sexton avoids nicely.

Boech moves into the clinch.

Boech throws a knee to the head but misses.

Sexton manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Boech throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sexton works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Boech is fighting to break Sexton's control of his arms but Sexton is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Sexton manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Boech manages to get himself to full guard.

Sexton prevents Boech from getting back to his feet.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Dylan Sexton wasn't active enough on the ground.
Boech misses with a series of wild punches.
Sexton dodges the punch combination from Boech.

Boech has managed to clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Boech using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Sexton has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Sexton is trying to pull guard but Boech has him pressed against the cage.
Sexton is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Sexton looks winded!
Sexton wants to break the clinch but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Boech.

Boech drops Sexton with a left and a right! Oh, Sexton is hurt - Boech dives into side control looking to finish!

Sexton is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Boech scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Sexton is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Boech can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
