Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tom Cirus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Silva!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Luis Engracia and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cirus swivels and escapes.
Cirus avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Silva misses the jab.
Silva shoots in and drives through. Cirus sprawls well.
Silva tries to clinch up
and Cirus counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Cirus keeps the fight on the outside.
Carlos Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva slips under a jab from Cirus.
Cirus looks to score with a jab to the body but Silva is just out of range.
Silva wants to clinch but Cirus slips to the side

and Cirus counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Cirus thows a huge punch but Silva dodges it nicely.
Silva on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cirus is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Cirus lands a nice short elbow.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Cirus connects with a nice short shot to Silva's temple.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cirus thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Silva's head.
Cirus thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Cirus lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Cirus working over Silva with some ground and pound. Silva looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Cirus lands a nice short elbow.
Cirus throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Cirus passes to side control.
Cirus cracks Silva with a big elbow.
Cirus working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.


Silva is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cirus cracks Silva with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Cirus immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Silva is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Cirus!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tom Cirus!
Tom Cirus gave a mention to Mango Nutrition in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
