Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ed Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zed Zeddy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thompson's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, "Born To Win" By Papoose. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Ed Thompson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Zed Zeddy! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Colin Fray and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thompson misses with a two punch combination.
Thompson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Thompson throws out a loose jab but Zeddy uses good head movement to avoid it. Nice cross by Thompson.
It looks like Zed Zeddy has been cut. Thompson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Zeddy takes a swing at Thompson's ribcage but misses. Thompson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Zeddy shoots in looking for a takedown. Thompson tries to sprawl out of it but Zeddy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Thompson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Zeddy darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Thompson tries to get to full guard but Zeddy has control of the leg. Zeddy is looking to take a break and control but Thompson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Thompson is looking to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thompson controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Zeddy trying to pass the guard but Thompson defending well. Zeddy thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Zeddy seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Thompson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Thompson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Zeddy on the ground. Thompson is controlling Zeddy's trapped leg to prevent Zeddy from advancing to side control.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Zeddy steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Thompson. Zeddy fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Thompson avoids it really well and circles away. Ed Thompson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Thompson misses with a double jab.

and Zeddy counters with a right hand to the body. Zeddy takes a swing at Thompson's ribcage but misses. Zeddy is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Thompson rather than just go for the knockout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zeddy throws a looping overhand right but Thompson ducks down to avoid it. Thompson connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Zeddy slips a jab and a cross from Thompson.
Thompson gets caught flat footed, as Zeddy shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Zeddy controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Thompson seems keen to control Zeddy's posture. Zeddy is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Zeddy in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Thompson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Thompson wants to sweep here but Zeddy controlling him for the moment. Zeddy postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Zeddy wants to control from the top but Thompson keeps moving. Thompson pulls Zeddy in close to prevent any damage.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. No joy there for Thompson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zeddy fails with a takedown attempt. Ed Thompson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zed Zeddy. Thompson works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Zeddy shoots in and drives through. Thompson sprawls well. Thompson drops Zeddy with a nice combination! Thompson dives into Zeddy's guard, looking to finish!
Zeddy is rocked! Zeddy looks winded! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Thompson gets to his feet and stands over Zeddy, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Zeddy felt that one! Thompson unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Zeddy from any more punishment!
