Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Forrest Gump (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Doc Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gump comes to the cage accompanied by mama always said. Thomas is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Lunatic Fringe by Red Ryder. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Forrest Gump! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
29 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Doc Thomas! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thomas tests Gump's chin there with a solid looking shot. Thomas throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Gump counters with a thumping low kick. Thomas ducks under a wild hook from Gump. Gump throws a lazy right hand but Thomas sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. A telegraphed right hand from Gump misses the target. Gump does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Thomas misses with a straight left. Thomas avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Gump with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Gump misses with a low kick. Thomas jabs at Gump's body. Gump fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Thomas looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thomas gets a double leg takedown into Gump's guard. Gump controls Thomas momentarily but Thomas frees himself. Thomas looking to pass the guard. Gump working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thomas doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Thomas manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Thomas wants to control from the top but Gump keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Thomas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gump swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gump is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Thomas stopping the sweep attempt from Gump. Thomas lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Thomas postures up.
Thomas works a leg free and moves into half guard. Thomas is working for a kimura but Gump is defending it quite comfortably.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Thomas winds up and cracks Gump with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Thomas is looking to take a break and control but Gump is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Gump wants to get back to his feet.
Thomas seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gump tries to get to full guard but Thomas has control of the leg. Thomas with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Gump blocking the ground and pound attempt from Thomas. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gump is looking to control Thomas's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gump avoid being mounted? Thomas tries to pass the half guard into mount. Gump knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Gump is trying to control but can't.
Thomas lands with a punch from half guard. Gump looking for submissions off his back. Thomas wants to control but Gump is keeping him busy. Thomas is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gump wants to control but Thomas passes into side.
Thomas lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Gump is not content to let Thomas control the position. Thomas gets to mount! Gump was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Thomas lands a big elbow.
It looks like Forrest Gump has been cut. Thomas landing shots from mount. Thomas scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Gump?
Gump is rocked! Thomas breaks from Gump's wrist control and lands an elbow. Oh Gump is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Thomas loads up with a big shot that hurts Gump! He's pulled Thomas in close but Thomas has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Gump survive? More strikes from Thomas and Gump is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
