Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jay McDonald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Tomasino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tomasino is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Roy Jones Jr - U know my kind. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Tommy Tomasino was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jay McDonald ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tommy Tomasino! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Nard Betker and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tomasino fails with a takedown attempt. Tomasino fails to land with a series of punches.
McDonald fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Tomasino looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. McDonald loads up on a big right hand but Tomasino slips the punch. McDonald misses with a straight left. McDonald scores with a jab to the head.

and Tomasino holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. McDonald has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Tomasino is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Tomasino is trying to drag McDonald to the mat but McDonald just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Tomasino pulls McDonald into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Tomasino controlling the position. Tomasino is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Tomasino keeping moving, preventing McDonald from controlling successfully. McDonald has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tomasino looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Tomasino looking to control.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. McDonald jabs Tomasino to the body, keeping him at a distance. McDonald throws a wild combination but nothing lands. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Tomasino is defended easily by McDonald . Jay McDonald has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tommy Tomasino. McDonald throws a jab when Tomasino was well out of range. McDonald throws a left and a right that both miss
and Tomasino counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Tomasino misses with a takedown attempt - McDonald sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. McDonald swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Tomasino counters with a takedown into side control. McDonald on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if McDonald tries to get out of the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tomasino trying to control the position but McDonald is working away. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Tomasino fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Tomasino lands a nice forearm strike. Tomasino lands a few punches from side control. Tomasino throwing strikes but missing, from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tomasino passes to full mount! That's big trouble for McDonald ! McDonald is squirming around, avoiding Tomasino's attempts to control the action. McDonald working to try and regain half guard.
McDonald is breathing heavily. Tomasino landing strikes, looking to finish! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tomasino can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as McDonald is looking to escape. Tomasino is landing with some decent strikes but McDonald is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tomasino looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. McDonald is desperately trying to improve his position but Tomasino has a good base and remains in mount. Tomasino trying to control but McDonald is having none of it. Tomasino swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Tommy Tomasino!
