Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Landry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bj Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jake Landry! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bj Penn! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Ryoma Takatsuka and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Landry on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Landry ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Penn moves away. Landry closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Penn's guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Penn punching to the body, from the bottom. Landry knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Penn on the ground. Landry wants to get up but he can't break Penn's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Landry stands and steps away. Penn gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Penn misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Landry tries to bum rush Penn with a series of wild strikes but Penn uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Penn throws a series of punches but Landry avoids them all with ease. Bj Penn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Penn gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Landry counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Penn takes a knee to the side of the body. Penn tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Jake Landry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bj Penn. Penn is trying to drag Landry to the mat but Landry just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Landry breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Penn scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Landry doesn't seem bothered though. Landry moves into the clinch. Landry breaks from the clinch.
Landry takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Landry takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Penn lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Penn uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Landry forces Penn back against the cage and clinches. Penn wants a takedown but no success here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Landry tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Penn digs a good hook to Landry's body.
Landry moves into the clinch. Penn has Landry pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Landry manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Landry bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Penn is trying to control Landry's posture but Landry avoids it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Landry stands up and beckons Penn to his feet. Landry waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Penn. Landry thows a left - swing and a miss! Penn connects with a good right hand that stumbles Landry. Landry is breathing heavily. Penn throws a leg kick that is checked and Landry holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Landry has clasped his hands together around Penn's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Penn avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Landry. A lull in the action here. Penn sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Penn actively working from the bottom here. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Penn is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Landry pulls his head out easily. Landry is looking for a kimura but Penn is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Landry to get the leverage.

Landry slips a nice elbow through Penn's hands, connecting with Penn's forehead. Landry wants to advance to full mount but Penn doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Penn avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Penn looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Penn is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Landry is aware though and is defending well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Bj Penn will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Penn throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Landry's waist but Landry gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Penn off to one side. Landry closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Penn did well to prevent Landry getting side control. Landry not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Penn has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Landry is working away from the top position though. Penn regains full guard. Nicely done. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Landry accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Landry stands up from guard. Let's bang! This has been an exciting period of action! Penn lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Penn is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Penn is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Landry defends it well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Jake Landry will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Landry looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Landry throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Good shot there by Penn. Penn punishes Landry's body with a nice straight punch. The crowd cheers as Penn lands an impressive looking overhand right. Landry doesn't seem phased though. Penn is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. A big right from Landry misses. Landry gets in close and instigates a clinch. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Penn looking for a takedown. Landry's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Landry shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Penn scores with a shot to the body.

Landry gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Penn gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Landry tries to free his leg and advance position but Penn is retaining full guard. Landry wants to control from the top but Penn keeps moving. Landry has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Penn to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Landry is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Penn pulls down on the head and he's put Landry to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Bj Penn! A determined Bj Penn didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
