Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kanki Onki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonas Sakalas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sakalas has chosen Deliver Me as his entrance music. Kanki Onki has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kanki Onki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jonas Sakalas! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Aafke Stam and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Good standup being displayed there by Onki as he connects with a hook. Sakalas takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Sakalas pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Onki drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Onki passes into half guard. Sakalas looks winded! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Onki is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Onki is looking to pass Sakalas's guard but actually Sakalas recovers to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Onki sitting in guard here, content to control. Onki trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Onki's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Kanki Onki has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Onki takes the fight into the clinch. Sakalas is looking for a takedown.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sakalas wants to take the fight to the mat but Onki manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Sakalas looking for a takedown. Kanki Onki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jonas Sakalas. Onki breaks the clinch.
Sakalas blocks a head kick by Onki.
Onki feints and as Sakalas raises his hands in defense, Onki changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Onki showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Onki tries to stand but Sakalas is controlling from the bottom. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Onki working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Onki stands up from Sakalas's guard - Onki perhaps looking for a knockout. The fight moves into the clinch position. Onki manages to break the clinch.
Onki throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Jonas Sakalas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sakalas throws a chopping leg kick but Onki manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Onki fails with the takedown. Onki displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sakalas. Onki dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Onki has Sakalas up against the cage in a clinch.
Onki has clasped his hands together around Sakalas's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sakalas being controlled for a moment. Onki wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sakalas keeps working. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kanki Onki dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Onki darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Onki trying to control the action but Sakalas is working from the bottom. Onki is really struggling to control Sakalas but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kanki Onki wasn't doing enough on the ground. Onki lands a leg kick that knocks Sakalas off balance momentarily. Sakalas closes the distance and clinches up with Onki, looking for a takedown. Sakalas pushes Onki against the cage but Onki circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Kanki Onki is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Sakalas is breathing heavily. Onki fails with a takedown attempt. Onki avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Onki keeps the fight on the outside. A head kick by Sakalas misses and Onki moves into the clinch. Onki jumps guard.
Onki wants to stand but Sakalas is controlling the position. Onki pulls Sakalas in to control the position. Onki is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sakalas is aware though and is defending well. Sakalas stopping the sweep attempt from Onki.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Onki has his foot on Sakalas's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sakalas works his way back into a safe position though. Sakalas postures up.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sakalas won't allow Onki to get back to his feet. Sakalas working some strikes from top position. Sakalas postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Onki is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Sakalas, into his guard. Onki looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
We're going to have a standup here because Kanki Onki wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Onki avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Sakalas tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Onki paws at him with a jab and circles away. Onki closes the distance and clinches. Onki's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Onki lands with a nice body punch. Onki moves into the clinch successfully.
A short right from Onki on the inside. Onki gets a trip takedown into half guard. Sakalas is staying active underneath Onki, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Onki is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Sakalas is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Kanki Onki. Nice takedown defense from Onki. No joy for Sakalas on that attempt. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Onki shoots in for a double leg but Sakalas sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Onki clinches. Sakalas drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Kanki Onki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jonas Sakalas. Onki successfully pulls guard.
Onki has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Sakalas doesn't defend quickly enough and Onki has managed to lock this one up! Can Sakalas escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Onki on a fantastic submission victory.
