Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mya Nich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jackie Can (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jackie Can was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mya Nich! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jackie Can! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Albert Achterberg and Nard Betker.

Nich tries to keep at a distance but Can has taken the fight into the clinch. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Nich. Nich working hard to break the clinch. Nich is looking to break free of the clinch but Can has double underhooks. Can scores a nice knee to the body.
Can has Nich pressed against the cage, preventing Nich from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Can stalling in the clinch.
Can pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Can shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Can closes the distance and clinches up with Nich, looking for a takedown. Can pushes Nich against the cage but Nich circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Sloppy strikes from Nich. Those never looked like landing. Can chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Can wants to clinch but Nich slips to the side and Nich counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nich throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Nich blocks a head kick by Can.
Can moves into the clinch successfully.
Can taking a breather. Can keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Nich's efforts to push away.

Nich is trying to push Can away but Can has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Can keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Nich's efforts to push away. Nich wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Stalling in the clinch from Can.
Nich wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Can lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

Nich throws a series of punches but Can avoids them all with ease. Can throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Nich cracks Can with an open hand slap.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Nich misses with a double jab.
Can darts in and clinches Nich up against the cage. Can lands an elbow just above Nich 's eye.
Can breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. A punch combination from Nich misses.

Nich's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Nich swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Nich is breathing heavily. Nich misses the body punch and Can counters with an inside leg kick. Can buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Can throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Can feints and as Nich raises his hands in defense, Can changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Nich is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Can throws a big elbow that misses. Oh Nich is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Can is standing up over Nich. Nich looks to escape but Can dives into side control.
Can lands an elbow. Can throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Can tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Nich takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Can stands up. Can lands a leg kick that knocks Nich off balance momentarily.
Can forces Nich back against the cage and clinches. Nich seems to have got his legs back now.

Can moves into range and clinches up with Nich. Can scores a nice knee to the body.

Can pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nich tries to keep at a distance but Can has taken the fight into the clinch.

Can scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Can looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Can is trying to get an arm triangle but Nich is defending well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jackie Can dominated that round. The cut man is working on Mya Nich's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Good leg kick by Can there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Can throws a series of strikes that have Nich backpedaling.
Nich has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Can.
Can gets in close and instigates a clinch. Can landing knees to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Can gets the takedown into side control. Can misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Can tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Can has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Can tries for a kimura but Nich is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nich parries the strikes from Can easily there. Can is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Nich to escape.
Can decides to stand up, so the ref orders Nich to his feet. A punch combination from Nich misses.

Can tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Can scores with a leg kick.
A combination from Nich does no damage. Nich swats away the attempt to clinch by Can. Nich circles away from the clinch attempt.
Can has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Can looks to clinch and Nich counters with a three punch combo that has Can backing up. Can nods at Nich to acknowledge the strikes. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Can looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Nich tries to kick Can off but Can keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Can missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Nich on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Can wants to stand but Nich has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Nich is looking to escape.

Nich kicks Can off and gets back to his feet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nich looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Nich on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Can tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nich paws at him with a jab and circles away. Can scores with a slapping inside leg kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jackie Can showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Mya Nich's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Can fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Jackie Can seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Can cracks the inside of Nich's front leg. Nich avoids the head kick by Can.
Can thumps Nich with a low kick. Nich throws a left and a right that both miss
and Can counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Nich tries to throw a body punch but Can avoids it by throwing Nich back against the cage. Can lands an elbow inside that Nich shrugs off.
Can's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Can throws a head kick that misses. Nich stuffs the takedown.
Can clinches up against the cage. Nich tries to circle away but Can has him pinned against the cage. Can takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Can throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Nich blocks it with crossed arms. A frustrated look appears on Nich's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Mya Nich is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Can scores with a head kick. Nich tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Nich has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Can. Can showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Nich.

Jackie Can is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. The fight stays on the outside here - Can looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Can uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Nich. Can tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Can scores with a head kick.
Can tries to close the distance and clinch but Nich swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. A punch lands to the side of Can 's head but he takes it in his stride.

And that's the end of the fight! Jackie Can comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Can has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
