Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carlino Kael (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wayne Punk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Punk has managed to clinch.

Kael successfully pulls guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Punk trying to control the position from guard on top but Kael is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kael might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Punk tries to stand but Kael is controlling from the bottom.

Punk got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kael has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Punk has managed to get both his arms back between Kael's legs - danger averted.

Kael has his foot on Punk's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Punk works his way back into a safe position though.

Kael looking to break Punk's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Punk remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Kael will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Kael could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Punk wants to control his opponent's hands but Kael gets his hands free.

Kael lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Punk.
Punk is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kael is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Punk knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Punk for a finish.

Kael tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Punk stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Punk wants it to stay on the feet.

Punk shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kael pinned against the cage. Kael gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Carlino Kael has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wayne Punk.

Punk keeps the fight on the outside.
Kael will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Punk wants to clinch up but Kael keeps it at a distance.

Kael manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Kael on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kael tries to get out of the position.
Punk wants to get up but he can't break Kael's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Kael has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Punk can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Carlino Kael overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Punk is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kael is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kael has escaped and now he's on top!
Kael wants to control from the top but Punk keeps moving.

Kael is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Punk is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Carlino Kael.

Punk tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Kael moves into the clinch.
Kael goes for a takedown attempt but Punk pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Kael tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Punk tries to clinch there but Kael circles away.

Punk throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Kael tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Punk is in Kael's guard.

Punk stands up and waves to Kael to follow him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kael changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Punk tries to avoid it but Kael manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Punk to the ground. Punk escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Punk.
Punk doesn't manage to clinch there - Kael circles away.
Kael takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kael closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Punk tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kael smiles and moves away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Carlino Kael will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Punk displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kael.
Kael tries to score a power double leg takedown but Punk sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kael somewhat.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carlino Kael. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kael tries to land knees in the clinch but Punk avoids the damage to the body.
Kael lands with a short shot to the head.

Kael tightens his grip and picks Punk up, before dumping him to the ground. Punk manages to land in guard.
Punk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kael. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Punk is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Kael dives into side control.
Punk is looking for a sweep.
Punk is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Kael is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Kael looking to control but Punk is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Kael manages to capitalize on a mistake by Punk to take his back!

Kael is riding his opponent, not letting Punk buck him off.

Punk is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
I really don't envy Punk right now.
