The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Werdum shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Litwin's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Werdum lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Litwin can do anything to dispel that myth.

Werdum thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Werdum tries to free his leg and advance position but Litwin is retaining full guard.

Werdum has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Werdum is pushing down on Litwin's leg trying to pass to half guard. Litwin is fighting to maintain full guard but Werdum has managed to sneak the leg through.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Litwin is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Werdum is tapping! Great win for Litwin!
