1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nick Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 13 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Christopher Hero! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Dmitry Maklakov and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz throws a nice looking combination but Hero bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Hero has taken the fight to the clinch.
Diaz is trying to pull guard but Hero turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Hero breaks from the clinch.
Diaz misses with the combination.
Diaz slips a straight right by Hero. Hero lands a head kick. Diaz smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Diaz tries to bum rush Hero with a series of wild strikes but Hero uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Diaz with a hook. Hero keeps the fight on the outside. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Diaz throws a left and a right that both miss
and Hero counters with a lovely straight right hand! Diaz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hero circles away quickly and effectively. Diaz avoids a punch combination nicely.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hero waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Diaz. Diaz uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hero. A punch combination from Diaz misses. Diaz blocks a head kick by Hero.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz throws a right and a left that both miss. Hero lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Hero shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Hero was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Hero is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Diaz has managed to escape the submission attempt.

No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hero is looking for a triangle but Diaz pushes his legs off easily.

Diaz tries to bum rush Hero with a series of wild strikes but Hero uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Hero throws a series of punches but Diaz avoids them all with ease. Diaz regains full guard. Nicely done. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Diaz trying to keep a closed guard but Hero is proving a slippery customer.
Hero must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Hero decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Diaz, up you get! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hero pushes Diaz up against the cage in a clinch. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Hero pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Nick Diaz is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hero scores with a jab. Diaz acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Diaz scores with a hook to the body. Hero takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Diaz misses with a two punch combination.

Christopher Hero showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Diaz is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Hero working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Hero stands up. Hero clinches with his opponent.

Hero slips under a jab. Diaz gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Diaz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hero can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Hero stands up from Diaz's guard - Hero perhaps looking for a knockout. Diaz will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Christopher Hero is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Diaz swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Hero misses with a wild combination.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Diaz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hero circles away quickly and effectively. Diaz gets caught napping as Hero dives in and scores a takedown. Diaz manages to retain guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hero is stalling in the full guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hero drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hero jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Hero seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Christopher Hero has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Diaz looks to land a combination but Hero avoids it well.
And that's the end of the fight! Christopher Hero comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Hero has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
