Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stran Gler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Suneet Chandler!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Eddie Farnsworth and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chandler throws a leg kick that misses.
Chandler throws a right and a left that both miss.
Gler tries to score a power double leg takedown but Chandler sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gler somewhat.
Chandler swinging wildly here.
Gler with a lazy takedown attempt
and Chandler counters with a nice low kick that buckles Gler's knee momentarily.
Gler will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stran Gler. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gler shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Chandler makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Chandler.
Chandler has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gler can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Gler throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Chandler works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gler in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Chandler working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gler doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Chandler is tightening it up a little... Gler has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Gler reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Gler taps out! Nice BJJ there by Chandler!
