The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wyrm darts in trying to clinch
and Sharif counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Wyrm tries to clinch but Sharif moves away
and Sharif connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Sharif misses the shot to the body.
Sharif loads up on a big right hand but Wyrm slips the punch.

Wyrm shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sharif sprawls well. Sharif wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Wyrm gets slowly back to his feet.

Sharif uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Wyrm wants to clinch up but Sharif keeps it at a distance.
Sharif is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Wyrm had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Sharif throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Wyrm tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Wyrm has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Sharif sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Wyrm has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Wyrm thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sharif's head.

Sharif really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wyrm. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Wyrm has hold of Sharif's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Sharif manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Wyrm lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Wyrm has control of Sharif's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Sharif regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Wyrm fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Wyrm misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Wyrm is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Sharif has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Sharif!
