15 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tony McCowan! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Chad Campbell and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McCowan motions for Slyker to come forward. McCowan throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Slyker drops McCowan with a nice combination! Slyker dives into McCowan's guard, looking to finish!
It looks like Tony McCowan has been cut. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Slyker working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Slyker scoring with punches to the head and body. Slyker throwing strikes but missing. Slyker throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as McCowan works some decent striking defense from the bottom. McCowan working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Slyker. Slyker lands a couple of elbows.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Slyker holds on and takes a little breather. McCowan trying to control the position from guard on top but Slyker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Slyker keeping full guard, as McCowan tries to pass. McCowan trying to control but Slyker is working from the bottom. McCowan looking to pass the guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Cain Slyker wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. McCowan gets tackled into the cage by Slyker. Slyker maintains the clinch. Slyker prevents McCowan from breaking the clinch. Slyker has McCowan pressed against the cage, preventing McCowan from circling away and getting back to striking at range. McCowan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Slyker throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around McCowan's waist but McCowan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Slyker off to one side. Slyker tries to close the distance and clinch but McCowan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Slyker looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Slyker is looking to work some ground and pound but McCowan has wrist control. Slyker loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Slyker throws a strike but McCowan rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. McCowan wants to control from the top but Slyker keeps moving. McCowan drops back, looking for a kneebar! Slyker looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Slyker looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Slyker! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! McCowan takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Slyker is working McCowan over with some ground and pound from side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cain Slyker dominated that round. The cut man is working on Tony McCowan's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
McCowan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Slyker tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McCowan paws at him with a jab and circles away. McCowan turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. McCowan stuffs the takedown attempt from Slyker. Slyker gets slowly back to his feet. Slyker gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
It looks like Cain Slyker has been cut. Slyker tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. McCowan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. McCowan jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Cain Slyker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! McCowan throws a nice outside leg kick. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts McCowan, as that shot connected.
McCowan connects with a good right hand that stumbles Slyker. Slyker circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Slyker looks to clinch and McCowan counters with a huge left! Slyker is in big trouble! He's backing up but McCowan isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Slyker from any more damage. A dominating finish by McCowan!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tony McCowan! Tony McCowan seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
