PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Renji Narakura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andre Andranator (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Renji Narakura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Andre Andranator!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Saam Ante and Paul Aken.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Andranator misses.
Narakura shoots in looking for a takedown but Andranator manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Narakura's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Andranator feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Andranator passes Narakura's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Andranator wants to pass the guard but Narakura is defending well.
Andranator wants to take a breather but Narakura is having none of it.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Andranator in particular looking to stall.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Narakura is trying to control but Andranator passes into side control!
Narakura is not content to let Andranator control the position.

Andranator has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Andranator drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Narakura trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Narakura is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Andranator is controlling him.
Narakura utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Narakura pulls Andranator in to control the position.
Narakura has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Narakura is trying to keep Andranator in close.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Renji Narakura has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Andranator tries to clinch

and Narakura decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Andranator's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Narakura postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Andranator tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Andranator is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Andranator is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Narakura lands a couple of digs.
Narakura has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Narakura distracts Andranator with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Andranator looking for a guillotine here but Narakura defends easily.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Andranator has momentary wrist control but Narakura slips an elbow through the middle.

Narakura connects with a couple of short punches.
Narakura postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Andranator covers up, he's hurt! Narakura keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Narakura and the ref steps in to end the fight! Narakura can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
