Townsend seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

and Steveson counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Townsend is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Steveson is trying to control Townsend's posture but Townsend avoids it.
Townsend remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

That was a close second round but I would say that Joe Steveson will probably get the nod.

Steveson quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Townsend has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast!
