Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Anzhor Azhiev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grayson Carlyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Anzhor Azhiev!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Grayson Carlyle!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Tarja Halkonen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carlyle takes the fight into the clinch.

Carlyle tightens his grip and picks Azhiev up, before dumping him to the ground. Azhiev manages to land in guard.

Azhiev is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Carlyle is aware though and is defending well.

Azhiev had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Carlyle defends it easily.

Carlyle is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
It looks like Carlyle might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Let's hope that Carlyle has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Grayson Carlyle wasn't active enough on the ground.
Azhiev shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Grayson Carlyle wasn't active enough on the ground.

Carlyle fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Azhiev sprawls well initially but Carlyle persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Carlyle is looking for a kimura here.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carlyle is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Azhiev!

Azhiev is desperately trying to improve his position but Carlyle has a good base and remains in mount.
Carlyle is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Azhiev is in real trouble.
I would not like to be Azhiev right now.

Azhiev defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Carlyle's arms.
Carlyle keeps control of the position as Azhiev tries to break free.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Carlyle is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Carlyle just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Azhiev tries to escape the position.

Carlyle is persistently looking for the submission but Azhiev is defending it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Azhiev tries to roll over but Carlyle keeps him under control.

Azhiev is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Carlyle pulls his head out easily.
Carlyle moves into full mount! Azhiev won't be happy about that!
Azhiev regains half guard.
Carlyle uses his free foot to push down on Azhiev's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Azhiev.

Carlyle has hold of Azhiev's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Azhiev manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Carlyle tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Carlyle's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Azhiev can't escape the position.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
