Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Greg McNally! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Antoino Lombardo! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lombardo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. McNally shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lombardo but Lombardo pushes him off and we're back to square one. McNally misses with a takedown attempt - Lombardo sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. McNally takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Lombardo shoots in for a takedown but McNally shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. McNally dives in and scores a takedown into Lombardo's guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. McNally looking to pass the guard. Lombardo is looking for a triangle but McNally pushes his legs off easily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Lombardo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but McNally can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. McNally trying to control the position from guard on top but Lombardo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. McNally sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lombardo's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McNally is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lombardo doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time McNally. Lombardo is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but McNally pulls his head out easily. McNally is just content to waste time from the top position. Lombardo takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Lombardo working for a triangle but McNally defends it easily.
Lombardo is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McNally content to stall in guard here. Lombardo is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! McNally rolls with it to try and escape but Lombardo cranks on the arm and McNally is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
