PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marion Cobretti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wes Wolfen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cobretti comes to the cage accompanied by Frank Sinatra - Fly me to the moon. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marion Cobretti!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Wes Wolfen!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Saam Ante and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cobretti tries for a takedown but Wolfen sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Cobretti throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Wolfen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Cobretti fails with the takedown
and Wolfen makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Cobretti shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wolfen sprawls well. Wolfen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cobretti gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marion Cobretti. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Wolfen darts in and clinches Cobretti up against the cage.
Cobretti is trying to break the clinch but Wolfen is controlling him.

Cobretti gets control of Wolfen's arms and successfully pulls guard. Cobretti will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cobretti is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Wolfen defends well.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Wes Wolfen.

Wolfen closes the distance and clinches.
Wolfen lands an elbow that stopped Cobretti in his tracks for a moment.
Wolfen lands a nice knee to the body.
Cobretti is trying to force a seperation but Wolfen has the dominant position.
Wolfen lands a hook that snaps the head of Cobretti backwards.
Cobretti wants to break the clinch but can't.
Cobretti goes for a takedown attempt but Wolfen pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Cobretti loads up on a big right hand but Wolfen slips the punch.
Wolfen scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Cobretti shoots in and drives through. Wolfen sprawls well.
Cobretti swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Wolfen counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Wolfen throws a right hand that Cobretti ducks under and follows up with a left that Cobretti also avoids with ease.
Cobretti has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Wolfen finds it's way round the side to connect with Cobretti's head.

Wolfen tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Cobretti's elbow.

Wolfen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cobretti.
Cobretti scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

enabling Wolfen to counter with a crisp jab.

Wolfen connects with a body shot.
Wolfen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cobretti moves away.

and Wolfen counters with a two punch combo.

Wolfen looks to throw the jab but Cobretti is out of range.

Cobretti walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Cobretti misses with the combination.
Cobretti ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Wolfen moves away.
Wolfen throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
A right-left combo lands from Wolfen.
Wes Wolfen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Cobretti has his takedown stuffed
and Wolfen makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Wolfen fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Cobretti has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Marion Cobretti seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cobretti connects with a good right hand that stumbles Wolfen. Wolfen circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Cobretti showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Wolfen.
Cobretti takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wes Wolfen dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Cobretti has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Cobretti there as he acknowledges the shot.
Wolfen wants to clinch.
Wolfen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Cobretti.

and Wolfen counters with a right hand to the body.

and Wolfen counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Wolfen breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cobretti doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Cobretti misses with a looping left.
Cobretti takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
The fighters circle momentarily. Wolfen darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Cobretti takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Cobretti fails to land with a series of punches.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Wolfen moves into the clinch successfully.
A short body shot lands from Wolfen as the two fighters clinch.

Wolfen can't find room to land a body shot as Cobretti controls the action.
Wes Wolfen seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Wolfen throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Cobretti wants to break free but Wolfen has control.
Wolfen tries to throw a body punch but Cobretti avoids it by throwing Wolfen back against the cage.

Wolfen lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Cobretti is rocked!
Wolfen lands a right hand.
Oh Cobretti is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wolfen pushes Cobretti back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Wolfen has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
The referee is keeping an eye on Wolfen - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Wolfen pushes Cobretti back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Wolfen lands with a right to the head.
Wolfen throws a big uppercut that drops Cobretti! More strikes from Wolfen and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Cobretti lies dazed against the cage as Wolfen celebrates with his cornermen!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Wes Wolfen!
After winning the bout, Wes Wolfen thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
