Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ryan Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Riko Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Glass and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz jabs Sanchez right on the nose. Sanchez blinks but takes it well.
Sanchez takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Diaz throws a right and a left that both miss.

Diaz bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Sanchez takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Diaz tries to score with some ground and pound. Sanchez controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Diaz connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Sanchez some visible discomfort.


Sanchez is rocked!
Sanchez is looking to regain half guard here but Diaz keeps moving and retains side control.
Sanchez is still in real trouble! Can Diaz finish him?

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Diaz prevents Sanchez from improving his position.
Sanchez seems to have recovered his senses.
Diaz is tying to control. Sanchez wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Diaz thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Sanchez trying to hold on to Diaz's head to control him but Diaz postures up.
Sanchez is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Diaz's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Diaz's back!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Diaz breaks Sanchez's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Sanchez is looking to sinch up a triangle. Diaz throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Sanchez's body to avoid the submission. Sanchez has instead reached around Diaz's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Sanchez arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Riko Sanchez!
