PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Slick Johnson Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Sloop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Johnson Jr might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Get Hyper. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Josh Sloop enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of London, Slick Johnson Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Josh Sloop!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Sam Margolis and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloop misses with a jab, cross combination.
Sloop throws a series of punches but Johnson Jr avoids them all with ease.
Sloop fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Johnson Jr is out of range.

Johnson Jr looking to score a takedown here. Sloop is defending well but Johnson Jr drives through and ends up in Sloop's guard.
Johnson Jr prevents Sloop from getting back to his feet.
Johnson Jr really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Sloop has his feet on Johnson Jr's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Sloop catches Johnson Jr with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Johnson Jr has a takedown stuffed.
Johnson Jr misses with a takedown attempt - Sloop sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Johnson Jr looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Slick Johnson Jr. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Johnson Jr wants to clinch.
A head kick misses from Johnson Jr.
Sloop darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Johnson Jr on the wrong end of a nice jab.
A big left from Johnson Jr misses.

Johnson Jr shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Johnson Jr trying to pass the guard but Sloop defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sloop is looking to escape.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Johnson Jr is looking to advance position but Sloop won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johnson Jr is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Johnson Jr wants to stand up but Sloop has a hold of him and won't allow it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Johnson Jr passes the guard and advances to mount!
Sloop wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Johnson Jr.

Johnson Jr goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Sloop turns into him and now he's in Johnson Jr's guard.
Johnson Jr is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Sloop stands up and waves to Johnson Jr to follow him.
Johnson Jr tries to clinch up but Sloop circles away and keeps his distance.

Johnson Jr closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sloop to the mat! Sloop manages to get full guard.
Johnson Jr wants to control from the top but Sloop keeps moving.
Johnson Jr stops Sloop from standing up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Johnson Jr postures up in Sloop's guard and throws a big left but Sloop blocks it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Slick Johnson Jr will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Johnson Jr is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Sloop's half guard.

Johnson Jr is working for a kimura but Sloop is defending it quite comfortably.
Johnson Jr stalling away here and it's allowed Sloop to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Sloop is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Johnson Jr breaks the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sloop lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Johnson Jr backs up against the cage.
Sloop fails to land with a series of punches.

Sloop feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Johnson Jr sprawling to the canvas! Johnson Jr rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Sloop finish him?!


Johnson Jr is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sloop wobbles Johnson Jr with a right hand and the left hook that follows puts him on his rear! Sloop dives in with a huge flying punch that connects right on the button and puts Johnson Jr to sleep! - What a violent and spectacular finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Josh Sloop!
