Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 18 - 0, fighting out of London, William Harrison! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
23 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kenji Silva! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Donald Grub and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harrison drives through with a takedown into guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Silva preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Silva is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Harrison looking to pass the guard. Harrison throwing strikes but missing. Silva not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Kenji Silva has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Silva checks the leg kick nicely there.
Silva connects with a leg kick. Harrison looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Silva connects with a jab. Harrison shoots for a double leg takedown but Silva sprawls well. He's pushed Harrison's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Silva throws a wild body kick that Harrison sees coming a mile off. Kenji Silva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva throws a hook but Harrison avoids it easily. Harrison fails with the takedown. Silva throws a head kick that misses. Silva displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Harrison. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for William Harrison. That's going to take a lot out of him. Silva avoids a punch combination nicely.
Harrison will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Silva throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
It looks like William Harrison has been cut. Silva sends Harrison crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Silva is motioning to the referee to let Harrison up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Harrison is rocked! William Harrison seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Silva throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Harrison crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
