Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Hines (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sonny Watson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sonny Watson! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Dillan Fox and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Watson slips under a jab. Watson throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Hines. Hines swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hines misses with a takedown attempt - Watson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Hines avoids the head kick by Watson.
Hines tries to keep at a distance but Watson has taken the fight into the clinch. Watson presses Hines against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Watson is stalling here.

Watson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Watson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Hines controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Hines trying to control the position from guard on top but Watson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Chris Hines. Watson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hines paws at him with a jab and circles away. Watson closes the distance and clinches up with Hines, looking for a takedown. Watson pushes Hines against the cage but Hines circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Hines is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hines misses with a hook. Watson ducked under it nicely. Watson shoots in for a takedown but Hines shows good takedown defense. Chris Hines has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sonny Watson. Hines tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Watson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Hines moves in looking to clinch but Watson pushes him off. Hines shoots in looking for a takedown. Watson tries to sprawl out of it but Hines keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Watson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Watson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hines as he avoids it easily. Hines connects with a body shot. Hines shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Watson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Watson looks winded! Watson is trying to control the position but Hines postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Watson tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hines wants to control from the top but Watson keeps moving. Hines with a nice head shot there. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Hines wants to control from the top but Watson keeps moving. Hines showing good wrestling skills to control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Watson is trying to keep Hines in close.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hines trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Chris Hines will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

That's going to take a lot out of him. Hines slaps away a takedown attempt from Watson, before circling back to the center of the mat. Watson gets a clinch. Watson scores a nice knee to the body.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Watson is defended easily by Hines. Hines darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Hines will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. This has been an exciting period of action! Hines lands with a punch from half guard. Hines is keen to just control but Watson is a slippery customer.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Watson is looking to get to half guard. Hines is in the full mount, landing strikes. Hines can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Watson is looking to escape. Watson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hines landing strikes, looking to finish! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Hines dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Hines closes the distance looking to clinch and Watson counters with a thumping low kick. Hines tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Hines looking to score a takedown here. Watson is defending well but Hines drives through and ends up in Watson's guard. Watson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Hines knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Watson on the ground. Watson working a defensive guard here.
Hines drops back, looking for a kneebar! Watson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Watson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Watson! Watson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Hines manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
That's one minute gone in the round. Hines is thwarting Watson's attempts to control the position. Watson has hold of Hines's hands but Hines slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Watson is controlling Hines's position as best he can from this difficult position. Watson wants to control but Hines is keeping busy and won't allow it. Watson is looking to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Hines looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Hines lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Watson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hines is working away from the top position though. Hines content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Watson is refusing to be controlled, as Hines sits in half guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hines tries to close the distance and clinch but Watson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Chris Hines seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hines swings away with a body shot that misses
and Watson counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Hines avoids the head kick by Watson.
Hines tries to clinch but Watson moves out of range. Hines fails in his attempt to clinch. Watson misses with a takedown and Hines counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Hines fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Watson slips under a jab from Hines. Hines throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Hines closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Hines swings wildly with an uppercut but Watson uses good head movement to avoid it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hines tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Hines throws a punch but it's blocked by Watson. Hines jumps guard.
Watson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Watson stopping the sweep attempt from Hines. Watson wants to control from the top but Hines keeps moving. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Watson slips nicely into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Chris Hines showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hines, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
