Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mina Samson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Baxter Stockman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Samson comes to the cage accompanied by Soliders logic. Stockman has chosen Triumph- Fight the good Fight as his entrance music. Mina Samson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mina Samson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Baxter Stockman!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Ivan Kurochkin and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stockman is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
No joy there for Stockman, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Samson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Stockman is looking to score with low kicks.
Stockman throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Samson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Samson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Samson lands in his opponent's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Samson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Stockman gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Samson tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Samson pushes down on Stockman's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Samson has hold of Stockman's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Stockman manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Stockman trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Stockman might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Samson kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Stockman is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Samson.

Samson is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Stockman is defending well though. Samson let's go of the attempt for now.

Stockman is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Samson is aware though and is defending well.
Stockman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Stockman has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Samson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stockman wants to stand but Samson is controlling the position.

Samson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Stockman defends it well.

Samson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Samson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Samson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Stockman can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Samson is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Stockman to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Stockman shrugs it off.

Baxter Stockman has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Samson throws a nice looking combination but Stockman bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Samson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Stockman tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Samson is in Stockman's guard.

Stockman has his foot on Samson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Samson works his way back into a safe position though.

Samson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Stockman looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Samson has picked Stockman up and slammed him! Stockman can't keep hold of the triangle and Samson manages to pass to side control!

Samson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Samson looks up at the clock and then as Stockman takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Samson smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Stockman is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Samson off and has taken his back!
Stockman is striking well from the back but Samson escapes and manages to control the positon and works his way to half guard. A much better position - the crisis is over for the time being.
Stockman seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Samson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Mina Samson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Samson is looking to regain half guard here but Stockman keeps moving and retains side control.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mina Samson.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Samson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
