Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Simo Silakka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Adebisi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adebisi has chosen Go Go Adebisi as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Simo Silakka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Simon Adebisi!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adebisi fails with a takedown attempt.

Silakka gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Adebisi to score an easy takedown into full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Adebisi stops Silakka from standing up.

Adebisi has gone for a leg lock! Silakka slips out almost immediately though and dives into Adebisi's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Simo Silakka just wasn't active enough.

Adebisi tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Silakka was well out of range. Poor timing from Adebisi.
Adebisi lands with a hook. Silakka tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Adebisi dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
An inside leg kick from Silakka misses.
Silakka is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Silakka tries to land a front kick but Adebisi steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
A decent looking cross lands there for Adebisi.
Adebisi keeps the fight on the outside.
Adebisi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Silakka manages to avoid it.
Adebisi shoots in but no luck this time.
Silakka takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Silakka tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Adebisi is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Silakka rather than just go for the knockout.
Adebisi scores with a crisp jab that stopped Silakka in his tracks.
Silakka avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Adebisi crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Silakka - the referee stops the clock and Adebisi gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Silakka. Adebisi manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Simo Silakka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A telegraphed right hand from Adebisi misses the target.
Silakka connects with a jab.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Silakka missing with a left hand there. Adebisi was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Silakka lands a big head kick that sends Adebisi tumbling to the mat! Silakka takes a step backwards and waves Adebisi back to his feet - he wants the finish!


It looks like Simon Adebisi has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Adebisi fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Silakka sprawls well initially but Adebisi persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Adebisi misses with a head shot. Silakka uses the momentum to regain guard.
Adebisi throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Silakka works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Adebisi working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Adebisi controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Adebisi pushing down on Silakka's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Silakka tries to kick Adebisi off but Adebisi keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Adebisi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Silakka avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Adebisi.

Adebisi is working for a submission of some sort.
Silakka is looking for a sweep. Adebisi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Adebisi is working for a kimura here but Silakka manages to reverse the position and he's now in Adebisi's guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Silakka wants to control from the top but Adebisi keeps moving.
Adebisi manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Silakka manages to get himself to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Simo Silakka will probably get the nod.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Adebisi swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Adebisi on the wrong end of a kick to the body.

Adebisi closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
You can see the frustration on Silakka's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Adebisi goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Silakka has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Adebisi but great work by Silakka.
Adebisi tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Silakka wants to lay and pray for a moment but Adebisi keeps working.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Adebisi wants to control but Silakka postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Adebisi tries to bench press Silakka off him but Silakka keeps the position.
Adebisi gets back to half guard.
Silakka wants to take a breather but Adebisi is having none of it.
Adebisi is trying to get back to full guard.
Adebisi tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Adebisi is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Simon Adebisi has got the better of the ground game so far.
Silakka wants to free his trapped foot but Adebisi is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Silakka with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Silakka's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Simo Silakka has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Adebisi thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Silakka is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Adebisi scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Silakka to see if he's OK.

Adebisi wants to control but Silakka is keeping him busy.
Adebisi throws an elbow but Silakka slips to the side and avoids it well.

Adebisi tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Adebisi has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Simon Adebisi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!


The fighters circling - Adebisi throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Silakka ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Adebisi moves away.
Simo Silakka is winning the standup battle so far.
Silakka on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Silakka throws a head kick but Adebisi moves out of range.
Silakka misses with a straight left.
Silakka tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Adebisi is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Adebisi connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Silakka moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Silakka misses with an uppercut.
A looping hook to the body misses from Adebisi. Silakka does a little dance to reset his feet.
Adebisi throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Silakka tries to close the distance and clinch up but Adebisi swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Silakka connects with a right hand. Adebisi shakes it off.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Silakka will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Adebisi scores with a decent looking hook.
Adebisi throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A shot to the liver by Adebisi. Beautiful body shot.

A head kick misses from Silakka.
Adebisi circles away from the clinch attempt.
Donk. Adebisi catches Silakka right on the button with a cross.

Adebisi scores with a jab to the jaw.
Silakka misses with a low kick.
Silakka throws a leg kick
and Adebisi counters with a left right combination that sends Silakka crashing to the mat - Adebisi wastes no time in diving on top of him and pounding Silakka out for a TKO! Devastating finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Simon Adebisi!
