Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Raje Malapitan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Power Ranger Blue (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blue has chosen Youth Gone Wild- Skid Row as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Raje Malapitan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Power Ranger Blue! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blue swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Malapitan counters with a takedown into side control. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Malapitan thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Malapitan throwing shots but missing, from side control. Malapitan tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Malapitan has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Malapitan goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Blue rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Malapitan's guard! Nice work there by Blue! Malapitan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Malapitan controls Blue momentarily but Blue frees himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blue stopping the sweep attempt from Malapitan. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Malapitan wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Blue looking to pass the guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Malapitan shoots in and drives through. Blue sprawls well. Malapitan doesn't succeed with the takedown and Blue counters with a straight right hand. Blue throws a combination that misses and Malapitan counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Malapitan. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Blue can do anything to dispel that myth. Blue keeping moving, preventing Malapitan from controlling successfully. Malapitan wants to pass the guard but Blue is keeping the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Malapitan is working hard here to advance position. Blue has his feet on Malapitan's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Blue swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Malapitan decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Blue's guard. Blue is looking to stand up but Malapitan isn't so interested in that idea. Malapitan trying to control but Blue is working from the bottom. Malapitan looking to sit in guard and control but Blue gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Malapitan looking for a sweep. Not yet Malapitan, not yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Blue is fighting to break Malapitan's control of his arms but Malapitan is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Raje Malapitan. Blue ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Malapitan moves away. Blue will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Raje Malapitan dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Blue connects with a leg kick. Malapitan looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Blue throws a front kick aimed at Malapitan's knee but Malapitan avoids it well. Blue throws a right and a left that both miss. Raje Malapitan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Nice sprawl there from Blue as Malapitan shoots in. Blue lands with an overhand left. Blue's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Blue duly obliges. A nice combination there by Blue.
Malapitan shoots for a takedown but Blue saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. A looping hook to the body misses from Blue. Malapitan does a little dance to reset his feet. Malapitan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. This has been an exciting period of action! Malapitan looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Blue regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Malapitan.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Malapitan trying to control but Blue is working from the bottom. Malapitan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Malapitan throws a strike but Blue rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Malapitan is trying to keep Blue in close.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Malapitan looking for a sweep. Not yet Malapitan, not yet. Malapitan looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Blue passes into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Malapitan is not content to let Blue control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Power Ranger Blue showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Blue lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Blue. Malapitan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Blue.
Blue throws a combination that misses and Malapitan counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Malapitan throwing strikes from guard but Blue blocks nicely. Raje Malapitan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Malapitan wants to control from the top but Blue keeps moving. Malapitan trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Blue manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Blue wants to pass the guard but Malapitan is keeping the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Malapitan looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Raje Malapitan wasn't doing enough on the ground. Blue cracks the inside of Malapitan's front leg. Blue dives in and grabs Malapitan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Malapitan pushes down on Blue's head and hops out. No joy there for Blue, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Blue lands a two punch combo.
It looks like Raje Malapitan has been cut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Horrible takedown by Malapitan or perhaps it was just good defense by Blue which made him look bad. Power Ranger Blue seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Blue scores with a three punch combo!
Blue throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Malapitan. Malapitan fails with a takedown attempt. Blue throws a combination that misses and Malapitan counters with a shoot takedown. Blue fights it but they end up in guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Blue wants to stand and escape but Malapitan is having none of it. Malapitan throws a big right hand that misses. Malapitan throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Blue avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Malapitan trying to control but Blue is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Malapitan is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Blue is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Malapitan has gone for a leg lock! Blue slips out almost immediately though and dives into Malapitan's guard. Malapitan pulls Blue in to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
We're going to have a standup here because Raje Malapitan wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. A punch combination from Blue misses. Malapitan avoids a punch combination nicely.
Blue scores with a one two! Malapitan had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Blue defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Malapitan. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Raje Malapitan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Excellent takedown into side control there by Malapitan. Blue is trying to buck Malapitan off. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Malapitan tries for a kimura but Blue is defending well. Both fighters are breathing heavily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Malapitan thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Raje Malapitan. I think Malapitan has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
