Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brody Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Esperanza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes to the cage accompanied by "Grease Box". I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Brody Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 22 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jimmy Esperanza!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Viktor Lagutenko and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Esperanza misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jones throws a big shot that misses.
Jones tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Esperanza counters with a thumping low kick.
Jones misses with a hook.
Esperanza stuffs the takedown attempt from Jones. Jones gets slowly back to his feet.
Esperanza plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Jones throws an off balance right hand
and Esperanza connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Jones misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Esperanza counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Jones with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Esperanza to score with a decent uppercut.
Jones throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jones throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Esperanza throws a head kick that Jones semi-blocks.
Jones misses with a looping right.
Brody Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Esperanza shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Esperanza seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Jones is trying to stand back up but Esperanza is controlling him
Esperanza works his foot free and advances to mount.
Jones tries to hold on but Esperanza pushes him away.
Jones is looking to improve his position but Esperanza isn't that keen on the idea.

Jones wants to control but Esperanza is having none of it.

Jones wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Esperanza.

Jones on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jones tries to get out of the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Esperanza cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Jones throws a looping overhand right but Esperanza ducks down to avoid it.
Jones misses with a hook
and Esperanza connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Esperanza closes the distance and pushes Jones back into the cage.
Esperanza has Jones pressed against the cage, preventing Jones from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Jones wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Esperanza lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Jones.

Esperanza wants the takedown. Jones is fighting it off but Esperanza persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Jones's guard against the cage.

Jones is trying to push Esperanza away but Esperanza has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Esperanza lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Esperanza prevents a body shot from Jones.
Esperanza digs a right hand into Jones's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Jones's gas tank.

Esperanza has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Jones regains guard immediately.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Esperanza slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jimmy Esperanza hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Jones gets tackled into the cage by Esperanza. Esperanza maintains the clinch.

Esperanza has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Jones clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Jimmy Esperanza showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Esperanza is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Jones can't fight it off and eventually Esperanza manages to take the fight to the floor. Jones looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Well Esperanza has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
