Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ip Man! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
22 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, George Robertson! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! An inside leg kick lands from Man. Robertson throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Decent striking displayed by Robertson there. Robertson misses with an uppercut
and Man counters with a stiff right hand. Robertson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Man rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Robertson moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Robertson looks to land a left hand but Man moved out of range nicely. Robertson throws out a loose jab but Man uses good head movement to avoid it. Robertson misses with a hook. Man misses with a low kick.
George Robertson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Robertson changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Man avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Man checks a leg kick. George Robertson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Man throws a low kick but Robertson moves out of range easily. Robertson throws a low kick but Man moves out of range easily. Robertson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Man. Robertson feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Man's calf. Man throws a poor cross that misses
enabling Robertson to counter with a crisp jab. Robertson moves out of range of the body kick. Man is looking to land body kicks. Man looks to land a left hand but Robertson moved out of range nicely. Robertson scores with a jab to the head.
Robertson throws a looping overhand right but Man ducks down to avoid it. Jab by Robertson. Robertson throws a right hand that misses
and Man makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Robertson misses with an uppercut
and Man counters with a nice uppercut. Robertson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Robertson swings widly with a right hand
and Man counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. A swing and a miss from Robertson. Robertson jabbing away but nothing is landing. Robertson misses with a hook
and Man counters with a leg kick. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Man with a body punch. A glancing blow. Robertson throws a right hand that misses
letting Man counter with a right hand. Man connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Robertson momentarily.
A combination from Man does no damage. Man sizes up Robertson with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Good exchange - Robertson coming out on top.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Robertson misses with a right hand and Man decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Robertson's guard. Man postures up in Robertson's guard and throws a big left but Robertson blocks it. Man passes easily into side control. Nice work. Robertson defending against the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Robertson is looking for a sweep. Robertson takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Robertson takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Robertson on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Man in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Man tries to score with some ground and pound. Robertson controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Man works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Robertson is working to avoid the ground and pound but Man connects with a decent elbow. Man is working Robertson over with some ground and pound from side control.
Robertson is rocked! Man fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Man scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Robertson is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Man can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ip Man! Our winner, Ip Man, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
