Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ray King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Cavalera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ray King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Max Cavalera!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Dillan Fox and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cavalera looks to land a combination. King sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
King misses with a body shot.
King misses with a straight left.
Cavalera digs a good body shot into King's ribs.
King takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Cavalera uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from King.
A jab from Cavalera does it's job there.
Cavalera misses the shot to the body.
King misses with a looping right.
King lands with a right hand.
Cavalera takes a swing at King's ribcage but misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
King avoids the body shot from Cavalera.
Nice cross by Cavalera.
No joy there for King, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Nice defenses there by King.
Cavalera catches King with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Cavalera swings widly with a right hand
and King cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Ray King is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
King avoids a punch combination nicely.
Cavalera tries to clinch up.

Cavalera feints and as King raises his hands in defense, Cavalera changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Cavalera throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cavalera stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. King swivels though and keeps the full guard.
King is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Cavalera trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Cavalera postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cavalera slips nicely into half guard.
Cavalera throwing shots but King is blocking nicely.

Cavalera is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so King is just riding it out for now. Cavalera eventually gives up the hold.
King has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cavalera is working away from the top position though.

King keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

King moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Cavalera drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cavalera jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Max Cavalera dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


King jabs Cavalera to the body, keeping him at a distance.
King scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
King throws a right hand that misses
and Cavalera counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Cavalera works King's body with a nice hook.
A telegraphed right hand from King misses the target.
King misses with a looping right.
Cavalera bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Cavalera pivots, looking for a leg kick but King is out of range and Cavalera settles back down.
Max Cavalera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

King misses with a straight left.
King ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cavalera moves away.
Cavalera loads up on a big right hand but King slips the punch.
King takes a swing at Cavalera's ribcage but misses.
King stuns Cavalera with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Cavalera displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as King throws out the jab.
King moves into range and connects with a jab.
Cavalera scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Cavalera looks to land a left hand but King moved out of range nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cavalera swings for the body but King moves out of range.
King takes a swing at Cavalera's ribcage but misses.
Cavalera tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but King was well out of range. Poor timing from Cavalera.
Cavalera lands a jab to King's midsection.
King throws a jab but it's blocked by Cavalera.

Cavalera closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming King to the mat! King manages to get full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
King is trying to keep Cavalera in close.
Cavalera content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Cavalera postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Cavalera passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Cavalera thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
A control attempt from King but he's now mounted!
Cavalera prevents King from getting the reversal.
Cavalera looking to land elbow strikes but King uses the position to regain half guard.

King is trying to stand up here but Cavalera is controlling him well.

Cavalera is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, King has managed to free his arm - good work.
King is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Cavalera's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Cavalera's back!
King is trying to stick to Cavalera's back but Cavalera is turning into King. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in King's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Cavalera.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
King trying to keep a closed guard but Cavalera is proving a slippery customer.
Max Cavalera has got the better of the ground game so far.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Max Cavalera will probably get the nod - 10:9.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Cavalera shoots in but no luck this time.
Cavalera slips under a jab from King.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice shot lands for King.
King throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
King leaves Cavalera with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ray King has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Cavalera.

Cavalera throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. King was covering up waiting for the punch and Cavalera finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Cavalera wants to control from the top but King keeps moving.
Cavalera has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Cavalera seems to be looking for submissions.

Cavalera is sneakily working for an arm triangle but King sees it coming and defends easily.
King avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Cavalera.

Cavalera in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. King tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Cavalera!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:49 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Max Cavalera!
After winning the bout, Max Cavalera thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
