The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lima throws a hook to the side of Vrakas's head but Vrakas sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Vrakas avoids the body shot from Lima.
Lima misses with a straight left.
Lima misses with a jab, cross combination.
Lima cracks Vrakas with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Vrakas throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Vrakas takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Vrakas's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Lima connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Vrakas scrambles back to his feet.
Lima changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vrakas tries to avoid it but Lima manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vrakas to the ground. Vrakas escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Lima shoots in and drives through. Vrakas sprawls well.
Vrakas looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lima is fending him off so far but Vrakas persists. Nope, Lima circles away and we're back to standing.
Lima lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Lima throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Vrakas sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Vrakas tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Lima manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Lima wants to slow Vrakas down by chopping away at his legs.
Lima swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Lima sizes up Vrakas with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Good leg kick by Vrakas there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

It looks like Bruno Lima has been cut.
Vrakas throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Vrakas tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lima swivels and escapes.
Vrakas fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Lima has eaten all the pies!

Lima throws a jab but it's blocked by Vrakas.
Vrakas takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

and Vrakas counters with a nice kick to the body.

Vrakas throws a leg kick but Lima moved away.

and Vrakas decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lima's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Vrakas is looking to stand up but Lima won't let him.
Vrakas postures up in Lima's guard and throws a big left but Lima blocks it.

Lima is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Vrakas is controlling him.

Vrakas shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lima looks to throw the jab but Vrakas is out of range.
Vrakas gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Vrakas shoots in for a takedown but Lima shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Vrakas misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Vrakas rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lima moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Lima shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Lima was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Vrakas is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Lima thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Vrakas is trying to escape the mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lima can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Vrakas is looking to escape.

Vrakas bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Lima really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vrakas. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
